Airline of the Year 2009

Arik air was declared as the best airline of Nigeria for the year 2008 at the event of 14th Annual Thisday Awards held on Wednesday, 14th January 2009. While presenting the award at a well organized ceremony in Abuja, the organizers and the presenters complimented that despite being the new player in the industry, Arik Air has performed better than all other airlines. The airline not only incorporated the state of the art aircraft and technology into the business but also set standards to provide healthy competition to the other industry players. Arik Air’s General Manager, Finance and Admin, Mr. Chris Ndulue received the award on behalf of the Organization.

While taking the award, he thanked all the passengers who travel via Airline and all the financial institutions that have kept faith in the Airline’s management. He credited the excellent performance of the company to both of them, because without their support it would not have been possible to achieve what it has. Furthermore, he enlightened the company’s focus of providing quality service to Nigerians. He also mentioned that the Airline plans to connect Nigeria with more African cities. Other high ranking officials of Arik Air were also present at the award ceremony. Since commencing operations in October 2006, Arik Air has won many awards and accolades including the International Quality Summit Award in recognition of commitment to quality, leadership, technology and innovation and the United States International Partner Award.

Arik Air has grown to become Nigeria's largest carrier connecting 20 airports from its hubs in Lagos and Abuja, operating over 100 daily flights on 27 routes using an ultra modern fleet of 20 aircraft.
